The primary role of a Business Developer is to identify sales leads and new business opportunities. They are accountable for the entire Sales process from identifying, collating the necessary information, briefing the Engineering department, and closing the project. Communication with clients is of utmost importance.

We are looking for someone with experience in the Solar PV industry, someone with excellent communication skills as well as a good understanding of financial tools and is technically competent: in other words, understands the technology. Being able and willing to travel is a prerequisite.

The Sales and Business Developer will work closely with the Engineering team as well as the Marketing division. They will also be expected to contribute towards establishing concepts that position our offering in the market.

  • Aggressively prospect, qualify, and close leads using a variety of sources.
  • Maintain existing clients and be the liaison person for all sales leads.
  • Own entire sales process from prospecting to completion of the sale
  • Create proposals which outline the services to be delivered
  • Maintain and create Sales reports
  • Interact with the marketing department
  • Meet and exceed individual daily, weekly and monthly sales goals


  • B Degree / NQF 7 qualification or higher in Business, Finance, or Design
  • Excellent administrative, planning, and organizing skills with attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Highly competent in Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Capability to produce content on time with attention to detail;
  • A well-organized team leader with the ability to perform various tasks, act independently, and think creatively;
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft applications and ability to work on various simulation software; and
  • Positive and proactive attitude.

The primary role of design engineers is to design, simulate, cost and prepare proposals for rooftop and ground mounted PV systems according to the company’s standard practices as well as South African legal standards.

Location:                    Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth)

The job/core responsibilities

Solar System Engineering Costing & Designs

• Liaising with stakeholders, performing site inspections, compiling site inspection reports.

• Full electrical and physical design of rooftop, ground mount and hybrid PV projects & large-scale energy efficient hot water solutions to customer requirements.

• Costing of designs and preparation of proposals; simulation of systems using PVSol & ensuring systems are designed in accordance with their relevant standards.

Design Drawings

• Preparation and issuing of design drawings (using AutoCAD) and peer review of drawings.


• Performing close out inspections and commissioning.

• Preparation of BOQs for solar systems and providing support to the procurement department.

• Performing various types of analysis on new and existing solar systems and producing reports as required.

• Providing input on the project plans and assistance to the project manager.

Minimum requirements

• Advanced Diploma (NFQ 7, Electrical Engineering) but an engineering degree is preferred.

• Three years work experience, at least one of which has been in PV design.

• Proficient in programs such as PVSol, PVSyst, AutoCAD, MS Office suite. General computer literacy.

• Good English language communication skills (verbal and written communication).

• Drivers license and own vehicle.

• Passionate about renewable energy and specifically the solar industry.
