Our History

Genergy was launched in 2008, when founder Terry Billson became an early adopter of what was then a fledgling industry in South Africa. He was joined by Co-founder Astrid Forbes. Together, they identified renewables and more specifically solar as a future oriented intervention for the security of the energy supply, and a tool for industry decarbonisation, cost savings and sustainability.

Almost 20 years later, their optimism holds true as the solar industry continues to grow on a global scale. As part of a rapidly developing industry, Genergy strives to adapt to new technological and regulatory developments as they come into being. With comprehensive experience spanning solar water heating and solar photovoltaics, Genergy has a proven track record of high performing system design and installation execution.
